Carré Otis Sutton is one of the most recognizable faces in the modeling industry. She is also a tireless activist and author who speaks out against discrimination, sexual harassment, women’s rights, and gender inequality.

Carré has been open about her past battle with eating disorders, and as a result of intensive and dedicated spiritual and personal work, she has been graced with decades of recovery. She attributes her general sense of balance and well-being to her thirty- year practice of Tibetan Buddhism, as well as her ten-year immersion in indigenous Wisdom Traditions from South America, Africa, North America, and Asia. Carré has travelled to West Africa twice to be initiated into the B’witi tradition of African shamanism.

In Carré’s brave memoir, Beauty Disrupted, released in 2011 by Harper Collins Publishers, she documents the challenges and struggles that led her to her spiritual journey. As a writer, Carré has also contributed to Huffington Post, Mind Body Green, Elephant Journal, Patheos, The Conversation, and Vogue Australia. In December of 2013, she gave her first Tedx Talk, addressing several key themes of her activism.

As a passionate advocate and activist, Carré is on the Advisory Board of the Model Alliance, a non-profit organization working to establish fair labor standards for models in the U.S. She is also a long time Ambassador for the National Eating Disorders Association and a new Ambassador for Knock Out Abuse, an organization that works to support survivors of domestic violence. Carré is also on the board of Wisdom in Nature Alliance (www.wisdominnaturealliance.org), an organization working to support and preserve the Indigenous communities of South America.

Carré frequently travels to Costa Rica, where she co-facilitates unique retreat experiences, supporting her clients’ spiritual journeys and growth through both www.psychadellicjourneys.com and www.awakenyoursoul.com.

Her strong commitment to helping others reclaim physical and emotional health, develop positive body image, and empower themselves in all areas of their lives, is what makes her a powerful and inspiring voice for change.
